Country Music legend Charlie Daniels performed at Centre College in Danville recently - on the eve of his 69th birthday as a matter of fact! He also greeted and celebrated with youngsters from the Galiean Children's Home in Liberty, KY - about 30 minutes south of Springfield. I interviewed Mr. Daniels - for the fourth time in two years. He remains strongly supportive of the war and the troops in Iraq, is an outspoken Christian who continues to spread his faith and the message that Jesus Christ died to save sinners. Charlie Daniels is a humble man with strong opinions about a lot of controversial issues and I admire him greatly for them. He doesn't mind speaking his mind except when he's performing for most audiences. "They come to hear me play, not to get on my soapbox," he told me. "Although sometimes I do a little bit anyway."
